The Park Kochi, is a 170 room boutique hotel with almost 7 F&B outlets, meeting rooms, banqueting facilities and a spa block. The brief for the project was simply India Modern. The design is a response to this, using traditional art, objects and colours in a modern setting. Urlis are perforated and used as light fixtures, white and gold saris sandwiched between glass panels used as partitions, the hull of a boat fashioned into a life size installation above the reception table. Each space has a unique identity weaving together a fresh and contemporary experience of traditional Kerala.
