Project status / Completion date - 2018
This boutique furniture and finishes store, completed in 2018, has been envisioned to be a customer experience centre to showcase exclusive designer furniture brands that have carved out a niche in the market.
Located in the CBD of the city, the store was designed to create a space that showcases a curated collection of furniture from various brands. The aesthetic has been achieved by the furniture which forms the foreground to an extensive collection of veneers which are also retailed out of this space.
The design intent was to create a contrast between high end pieces of furniture placed in a raw and seemingly unfinished shell to heighten the experience of luxury. The key design element is The Cube, where furniture setting is placed within a curated shell, each exhibiting a unique design language while also incorporating the display of veneer panels.
The Cubes make a dramatic statement with mirrored ceiling to frame an experience by instilling in the customer that the bedroom is a place that can be elevated beyond a simple place to snooze.
The ceiling visually opens up the mock bedroom upwards and helps to create the illusion of expanded space and light whilst adding a touch of glamour. The cube is accompanied by a suspended panel, etched with specifications of the furniture displayed within whilst craftily showcasing the finest selection of veneer.
