A store in Hyderabad for clients, who are fabric designers, was done in a very tight space and a very limited budget. The site was in Banjara Hills, Hyderabad, in the vicinity of other upmarket retail brands. The design solution called for a space that blended texture with monochromatic tones. The materials had to be simple but had to reflect a high design quotient. The display systems were ideated to be installations within the limited space to maximize the aesthetic quality.

Rope shelves, on a raw mild steel frame along a linear wall accentuates the length in addition to the mirrored back wall. The rope draws reference to the textile yarn. Waxed wooden chests below the shelving provide storage for the merchandise. The lighting is carefully concealed at various levels, bathing the merchandise with warm accents. Most importantly the rope catches the light and the entire shelving acquires a sculptural quality.
